I got a sneak peek

I know it sounds vain that I wanted my front brackets off for my trip to Rome, but I did it anyway. The ortho was so nice to me. I got 6 upper front brackets off and a retainer to wear in their place. It was like a sneak peek at what my teeth will look like when finished. I could see a big difference already and I have to admit they looked good. I don't think I would have done it, except this trip means a lot to me. It's with my sister and my mom who is not a "spring chicken". We have never done anything like this before and I want to remember this time with them in Rome without my braces.

  1. I am 47 and considering braces and a BSSO. I have an OS and an Ortho, but am still in baby step mode. BTW, lucky you, going to Rome! If you've never been there, you will love it!Have a great trip!

  2. Hi Louise. I started out just like you...baby steps. I took it one day and one decision at a time, but I'm so glad I did the braces. They have made a hugh difference in my smile already. I'm still on the fence about the surgery, but I think I'll go through with it. Good luck to you.

Sounds like you've been to Rome before. I've never been but I've heard a lot of good things about Italy and Rome.

  3. Hi June,

I’m sure a little time without your braces won’t make a difference. It’s nice to have a breather from the treatment anyhow, and I hope you enjoyed yourself in Rome. Well done on your blog – gives a great insight into the process of jaw surgery and braces, which helps others no end in deciding whether or not to go ahead with their own treatment.
