Yes, and if only my teeth would look as good as hers when it's all done. You're probably just in maintenance mode, biding time until your big day. It'll go by fast. June
Too Funny! Hey, I wanted to ask you...You said you got a Lefort III right? Just curious if when you went in for your initial consult that started out saying you need that or a Lefort I? At both of my consults they stated that I needed a Lefort I. But, I was wondering if they would change that once they got looking into things involving my nose. I'm also trying to figure out if they change it...if they'll charge me more?? Glad your progress is coming a long. Love, E
Hi E. I admit that I'm not an expert on this, but this is what I had done. I had a 3-piece Lefort 1 where the surgeon split my upper palate into 3 pieces and then put it back together with an internal splint. He rarely does a 1-piece because he said he gets better results splitting it into 3. He can adjust the bite better and more precisely that way. I think most surgeries are Lefort 1's, with the segments being 1 or 3. My surgeon was pretty expensive and he's not on any insurance panels. I would bet a 3-piece would be more than a 1-piece too, because it's harder to do.
As for your nose, they charged for mine separately. I had my turbinates reduced, which helped my breathing a lot. My insurance paid for this and for the jaw surgery itself. What are they doing to yours? You might want to ask that he writes it all out for you with prices.
Sorry, I meant to finish before I published the last post....I hope that explanation made sense. Let me know if it didn't. I am happy to help, because I was once in your shoes. Love, June
Okay! That totally makes sense now. I don't know if he'll charge extra (or do anything)to my turbinates. I know from allergy experience that they're always enlarged. I know know I have a deviated septum and some polyps that he said he included in the price. As far as insurance...we've been crazy busy at our home but I'm going to work on my appeal and send it in this week. My hopes aren't high b/c it's such a HUGE exclusion but we'll see. I doesn't help to bill it separately to insurance as it's out of network and will cost a ton b/c our deductible is high...sigh...but I know it'll all be worth it in the end. XOXOXOXO
Love the clip...if only they came off that easily!
